Join artists Ellie Beck and Rachel Moodie for an immersive one day workshop in the Southern Highlands of NSW.

Spend the day experimenting and improvising with botanical inks, cyanotypes, nature brushes and natural spray paints. Come away with a beautiful series of A6 journals of your work.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to create cyanotype or “blue prints” from start to finish. We’ll delve into the materials required, initial inking of paper, exposure, processing and tinting in tea baths.

  • Eco-spray painting using leaves, flowers, twigs and found objects as stencils.

  • How to improvise with nature for beautiful marks, colours and layers.

  • Botanical ink creation and mark making.

  • Creation of handmade nature brushes.

  • Painting with nature brushes.

  • Creative mindfulness and ways to step through fears and creative blocks.

  • About Ellie and Rachel and their individual creative practises.

  • Simple and effective bookmaking techniques using machine and hand stitch to resolve your creations as a beautiful series of A6 artist books.

When:

Saturday 19th October, 2019. 9.30am - 4.30pm. All levels of ability are welcomed.

Location:

Spend the day in my lovely garden and studio, in the Southern Highlands. We are 1.5 hours from the centre of Sydney and 5 minutes north of Mittagong. The exact address and accommodation options will be sent upon booking. If you have any questions please get in touch via my contact page!
