Cake and Create workshops are 2 hours long and include all materials as well as delicious cake. Classes are held at BDAS workshop rooms at 1 Short Street, Bowral.
2024 dates will be announced soon and will include classes such as Gelli printing, abstract painting, collage, paper making and more!

Christmas Gift Making

6pm to 9pm at Bowral Art Gallery workshop rooms.
Gift yourself or a loved one this beautiful evening with friends, craft and CAKE. In this class we will make Christmas themed craft that you can then GIFT to friends and family.

Darling Lady Collages

10am ~ 12.30pm at Bowral Art Gallery workshop rooms - Cakes from Thistle!
Come and eat cake with friends while collaging flowers, birds, bugs, beetles and vintage Belles!
At the end of the class you will have eaten delicious cake, laughed with friends and will leave with your own unique piece (or pieces) of artwork. Suitable for all levels of experience.
Painted Patchworks

2pm ~ 4.30pm at Bowral Art Gallery workshop rooms - Cakes from Thistle!
Come and eat cake with friends while playing with paint on gelli plates.
Gelli plates are soft, reusable mono printing plates. They give fantastic, textural effects perfect for collage and creating unique artworks.
In this class we will explore mark making and experiment with various techniques. We will then take our different painted papers and collage them into a painted and patched artwork.

Christmas Creations
Friday 25th November 2022
7pm - 9pm at Bowral Art Gallery workshop rooms - Cakes from Thistle!
In this fun Christmas themed workshop we will carve our own stamps, use ready made stencils and stamps, paint, washi tape and more to create totally unique wrapping paper, gift tags and cards. BYO beverages, friends and apron. All materials and cake included.
Abstract Painting Play

Join us on Friday the 21st of October for an evening of creativity & cake.
**Please note this class has had avenue change and will be held at The Bowral Distract Art Society Workshop Space located behind the gallery. Cakes will be supplied by Thistle in Bowral.**
This class will run from 7pm to 9pm. Please arrive 10 minutes early to get set up! Please BYO apron.
Explore mixed media on paper in this 2 hour workshop. We will experiment with water soluble pastels, acrylic paints, pencils and more! No experience required. You will leave with multiple abstract works of various sizes on archival card & watercolour paper.
BYO your own friends, beer, wine etc!

Quirky Character Collage
Friday 26th August 2022
Join us on Friday the 26th of August for an evening of creativity, collage & cake at Thistle in Bowral. This class will run from 7pm to 9pm. Please arrive 10 minutes early to get set up! Delicious cake and all materials are included!
In this class you will cut, snip, glue, chip chop, laugh and leave with a series of quirky character collages!
BYO your own friends, beer, wine etc! Optional - bring an apron to protect your clothes from any paint or glue used.
